Projects

Whether you have a small practice or you are a large firm with multiple locations, IT projects are inevitable. Projects can range from the replacement of one server, to the replacement of all servers and workstations with an upgrade to the end-user applications, to a migration to a fully hosted cloud solution.

Projects usually begin with interviews with the client to design the system. AKA Analysts will take into consideration the following information: existing equipment; applications that will be used and the computing power required to run the applications; a disk drive capacity to last for three to five years; customer budgets; in-house staff and the installation labor they will provide; timing the project to coincide with the end of lease for existing equipment, or year-end projects. All aspects of the project will be designed and time-lines will be produced for installation and training.

Once AKA has determined the design of the system, then our AKA sales support staff will put together the pricing for all of the necessary hardware, software, installation, migrations, training, maintenance, and support. For large projects, AKA may register the deal to insure maximum discounts from the manufacturer. Any discounted pricing from the manufacturers or distributors will be included in the proposal to reduce the price to the customer. AKA will also include financing options to spread the cost over the life of the hardware and software being purchased.

Once the decision is made to proceed with the project, AKA will assign a Project Manager and Analyst/Engineer to complete the implementation of the project in conjunction with the client’s in-house staff.

AKA Trainers will prepare the client’s users to use the new applications, and will provide floor support for the first few days after the cutover. Administrators will also be trained to manage the new systems as part of the project.

Finally, AKA will provide on-going support and maintenance for the long-term support of the system. AKA is able to provide maintenance contracts on the hardware to enhance manufacturer’s warranties. AKA may also provide remote monitoring of servers with on-site and remote notification to in-house staff and remediation if necessary. AKA also offers recurrent training for in-house staff and advanced application training to users at any time.

Key elements:

  • Complete system design with recommendations from AKA Analysts/Engineers
  • Comprehensive proposal – hardware, software, installation, total project cost estimates, and financing options
  • Managed implementation utilizing customer staff when possible – installation, data migration
  • Training of users and administrators
  • Long term maintenance and support of system
