Chicago Housing Authority.

The Chicago Housing Authority plays a vital role in providing housing opportunities across Chicago. Through the provision of public housing apartments and the management of Housing Choice Vouchers, CHA serves more than 63,000 low-income families and individuals, while supporting healthy communities.

There was a one day event for the Chicago Housing Authority(CHA) which was held in University of Illinois at Chicago’s(UIC) campus in which they needed to setup laptops with wireless internet access and optical laser mouse setup on desks.

The thing which was needed to be made sure was that the laptops delivered need to be tested out that they were working and ready to go for the event. And on the event day, they needed to be setup in the desired locations with optical laser mice and had to be packed and shipped back on the same day after the event had ended.

One day before the event when the laptops were delivered, the onsite support engineer from AKA Comp Solutions opened and tested out the laptops to make sure they are working. On the day of the event, there were 2 on-site support engineers assigned.

One setup the devices in the morning and stayed at the UIC campus for the first half of the day. And the second onsite support engineer provided support for the rest of the day and packed the laptops and made sure the laptops were picked up and sent to be shipped out.

The on-site engineers coordinated with staff from UIC and the Chicago Housing Authority to make sure the laptops were set up correctly and were shipped out at the end of the day.

The Chicago Housing Authority only wanted such a large number of end devices for one day and it didn’t make sense for them to buy the devices and then keep it or return it back to the store. Also they needed an IT Support Engineer onsite to make sure the devices bought are working fine and are configured correctly so that their event is not affected.

Here come AKA Comp Solutions in the picture who procured as well as on-site IT Support with their vendor providing them with the laptops at a good rate which was profitable for AKA Comp as well as CHA. This enabled CHA to spend on a good venue which is the UIC campus.

AKA Comp Solutions made sure the right devices were delivered and setup and also provided support and made sure the laptops were returned back to the vendor. They also coordinated with CHA, UIC and their vendor in making the event a success.
